Ingredients

  • 2 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup keto brown sweetener
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp xanthan gum
  • 4 green onions sliced
  • Sesame seeds optional

Method

  1. Slice the flank steak thinly across the grain.
  2. Place the sliced beef in the slow cooker.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, keto brown sweetener, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the sauce over the beef.
  5. Stir gently to coat the beef.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for about 4 hours.
  7. Check the beef for tenderness.
  8. Sprinkle the xanthan gum gradually into the sauce while stirring.
  9. Cook for another 10 minutes, until the sauce becomes slightly thick and glossy.
  10. Garnish with sliced green onions and optional sesame seeds.

Notes

Add xanthan gum gradually because too much can make the sauce gummy.
