Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef stew meat
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 1/2 small onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • The article uses cream cheese and sour cream at the end to create the creamy stroganoff sauce.

Method

  1. Add the beef stew meat, sliced mushrooms, diced onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  2. Pour in the beef broth.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard.
  4. Season with paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours until the beef is tender.
  6. Add softened cream cheese and stir until incorporated into the sauce.
  7. Stir in the sour cream just before serving.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Add sour cream near the end rather than cooking it for several hours. This helps keep the sauce creamy and smooth.
