  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • For the Creamy Swedish Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For Garnish
  • Fresh parsley chopped
  • Extra parmesan cheese

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, egg, almond flour, parmesan cheese, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, parsley, and allspice.
  2. Mix gently until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet and lightly brown the meatballs on all sides (optional but adds extra flavor).
  5. Place the meatballs into the slow cooker.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, heavy cream, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Pour the creamy sauce over the meatballs.
  8. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or until the meatballs are fully cooked.
  9. Stir the sauce gently before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Browning the meatballs before slow cooking creates a deeper Swedish-style flavor.
  • For a thicker sauce, remove the lid during the last 15–20 minutes of cooking.
